28 Aug Our Summer of Fun
Summer 2024 has been such a summer of fun and adventure at our care homes at the Ascot Priory. We’ve enjoyed so many activities this Summer from many outings, to making the most of our glorious grounds.
Fish and chips always taste better at the beach and we had a fabulous day at Hayling Island. We also held our own beach day at our care homes where we had fun making sand castles, “paddling”, wearing silly hats and joining in all of the activities including ball games, beach volley ball and hook a duck!
Other trips have included a safari to Woburn Safari Park, an educational trip to Hampton Court and visiting the beautiful Highclere Castle. We also enjoyed trips closer to home, visiting Runymede, Windsor, Savernake Park and a trip along the River Thames. A simple activity that always brings pleasure is feeding the ducks and we were so lucky with the weather with most of our excursions.
Whatever the weather, we made the most of our lovely grounds and our activities included afternoon tea in the garden, sketching our gorgeous grounds and getting creative by painting rocks! When the weather wasn’t so kind, we enjoyed flower arranging with lavender picked from our gardens, knitting and painting. Our pat dog, Bruno also visited and he always makes everyone smile.
One of the highlights for everyone this Summer was our Hawaiian-themed Day! We made Hawaiian pizzas, played coconut bowling, enjoyed cocktails from our Tiki bar and learned some Hawaiian dancing!
It’s been a truly wonderful Summer of fun and a great big thank you to all of our team who work so hard to make sure everyone has had a lovely time.
